New Jersey Education Assoc.

Project: HQ Presentation and Training Facility
Date Completed: 2002

Design Criteria

When the New Jersey Education Association opened a Conference Center in Hamilton Square, NJ, they needed a multipurpose room that could accommodate large Board Meetings and Training Sessions, but could also cater to smaller divisible workgroups. The room needed to be flexible and easy to use for both internal and external personnel. Exiting board meetings were cumbersome and typically utilized a hand held microphone which was handed off to various individuals throughout the room.

Solutions

Cenero designed a conference center which could comfortably communicate to 100+/- attendees, but also cater to smaller divisible training groups of 10 to 20 individuals. Although the room utilizes fixed conference and training furniture, multiple computer/laptop inputs were installed to allow users to present from various points throughout the room. Two independent projection systems were installed to allow the room to act as both a large conference center and a training room for smaller workgroups. NJEA benefited significantly from the push to talk conference system. The prioritized conferencing system allowed the host/speaker to maintain control throughout the meeting therefore promoting a more organized and efficient atmosphere. All systems were accessed via a wireless graphical interface which allowed any user to become instantly comfortable with the system.
