Project: HQ Videoconferencing and Training Facility
Date Completed: 2002 |
Design Criteria
BTG’s new building called for three (3) rooms with different capabilities and levels of integration from simple presentation systems to fully integrated multimedia and videoconferencing facilities. The videoconferencing systems had to integrate with their existing computer network as well as operate seamlessly with their parent company in the United Kingdom. A larger conference center would be used for a number of difference applications therefore the design needed to be dynamic, but also easy to setup and operate.
Solutions
Cenero successfully designed and programmed several integrated systems. A main conference center was designed for video presentations, videoconferencing, teleconferencing, and web conferencing. The room can be divided to act as separate training, videoconferencing, and presentation rooms. Display and audio mediums include VCR, DVD, CATV, Document Camera, Videoconferencing Cameras, and Tape/CD. Five computer inputs were located throughout the rooms to add flexibility to the meetings. All mediums and room control was access via Crestron Media Control System. The panel design was coordinated directly with both the technicians and operators to ensure ease of use. A dedicated videoconferencing room was installed to meet both technical and demographic needs. Cenero not only deigned the actual system, but also worked closely with the interiors designed and architects to design lighting scenarios, wall coverings, and acoustical panels to delivery the overall solutions.
Working directly with customer-supplied union labor, Cenero coordinated the entire installation process. In addition, Cenero teamed with a videoconferencing bridging company and an overseas systems integrator to provide a corporate-wide conferencing system.
Benefits
The result is a system that has drastically reduced travels costs between their US and London locations as well as improved communications for project managers, sales personnel and management.
